“The only way I’ve learned to overcome the things I am afraid of is to first admit that I am afraid and then decide that I am going to do something to get through that feeling. We are all afraid, but we must still try. We must still take chances and put ourselves out there. There is so much beauty and joy beyond what we fear. I aim to reach the other side. I am afraid, and yet I am determined to not let my fears control me.”

“I have become a slave to riding. Dedicating every free moment not reserved for school work and home life to riding horses, thinking about horses, planning my life around horses, and dreaming about my rather lofty
riding goals consumed my imagination. These past six years have been filled with fourteen hour horse show days, grueling lessons without stirrups, and lots of sweat and tears. However, with the pain and frustration also came indescribable joy whenever I aced a skill I had been working
on extensively. This is why I need to ride. I need the joy it gives me. Even though it kills me sometimes both emotionally and physically… I can’t NOT ride. It’s my life… forever & always.”
